ThreeBond 3061H Low-outgassing, UV-curing resin with an added anaerobic property



Overview

ThreeBond 3061H is a one-part, nonsolvent, ultraviolet-curing resin to which an anaerobic curing property has been added. Denatured acrylate is a major component. The product requires no measuring, stirring, or defoaming, and it cures quickly under ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of 200 to 400 nm; thus it reduces the time and labor needed for manufacturing. It can be used to bond and seal metals where the clearance is very narrow, below 10μm. It has less thermal mass change than the conventional ultraviolet-curing resins with an anaerobic-curing property. It remains extensible and flexible after curing, and it has excellent resistance to thermal cycling.

Features

· Under ultraviolet irradiation, it cures in not more than a few tens of seconds.
· It is extensible and flexible after curing.
· Because it changes color while curing, the progress of curing can be checked visually.
· Very little outgassing occurs during thermal aging after curing under ultraviolet irradiation.
· The product has very little adverse effect on HDD media.

· Bonding and sealing of electrical and electronic parts
· Bonding and sealing of HDD spindle motors

  High-pressure mercury lamp, HMW244-11CM type; 4kW80W/cm.
  Main wavelength, 365nm.
  Irradiation distance, 15cm.
Total light volume:
  30kJ/m2 (3000mJ/cm2) x 2. Both sides of the adhesive were irradiated.
Thickness of adhesive:
  About 1 mm
*1: For measurements of hardness, three pieces, each 1 mm thick, were stacked in layers.
