ThreeBond 2446 Water-based epoxy adhesive for precoating bolts with MEC process |

ThreeBond 2446 is a microencapsulated, water-based, environmentally friendly epoxy precoat locking agent for bolts and screws. When a precoated part is tightened, the microcapsules break; the resin and the curing agent quickly react to seal and lock the part. |

| · |
Provides extra strong bonding, more than 37.2 Nm, for an M10 P1.5 bolt tightened at 29.4 Nm. |
| · |
Has excellent resistance to temperatures up to 150°C. |
| · |
Is appropriate for use with size M2 or larger. |
| · |
Cures completely after 48 hours at 25°C. |

These results are for zinc chromate-plated bolts, M10 P1.5, tightened with 29.4 Nm and cured for 48 hours at 25°C. The maximum tolerable temperature for locking is the highest temperature at which the locking strength exceeded the torque with which the bolts were tightened. The maximum tolerable temperature for sealing is the highest temperature at which the sealant resisted an oil pressure of 7.9MPa. |
