ThreeBond 2457 Water-based low-strength acrylic adhesive for precoating bolts with MEC process |

ThreeBond 2457 is a water-based, microencapsulated, environmentally friendly acrylic precoat for use as a locking agent on screws or bolts. When a part is screwed into place, the microcapsules break; the acrylic resin and the curing agent then react quickly to provide sealing and locking. |

| · |
Provides low-strength bonding, more than 29.4Nm, for an M10 P1.5 bolt tightened at 29.4Nm. |
| · |
Has excellent resistance to temperatures up to 120°C. |
| · |
Can be used to precoat screws and bolts of size M4 or larger. |
| · |
Cures completely after 24 hours at 25°C. |

These results are for zinc chromate-plated bolts, M10 P1.5, tightened with 29.4 Nm and cured for 24 hours at 25°C. |
| *2 |
These results are for zinc chromate-plated bolts, M10 P1.5, and plain steel female screws tightened with 29.4 Nm and cured for 24 hours at 25°C. The maximum tolerable temperature for locking is the highest temperature at which the locking strength exceeded the torque with which the bolts were tightened. The maximum tolerable temperature for sealing is the highest temperature at which the sealant resisted an oil pressure of 7.9MPa. |
