ThreeBond 2481 Epoxy for precoating bolts (both male and female threads) with MEC process |

ThreeBond 2481 is a microencapsulated epoxy precoat for use as a locking agent on male and female threads. When a precoated part is screwed into place, the microcapsules break; the epoxy resin they contain then reacts quickly with the curing agent to provide a bond. The precoat can be applied not only to bolts and screws, but also to the inner surface of nuts. |

| · |
A precoated M10 P1.5 bolt tightened at 29.4 Nm has extra strength, 37.2 to 63.7 Nm. A precoated nut has midstrength, 34.3 to 63.7 Nm. |
| · |
The product has excellent chemical resistance. |
| · |
It can be applied to a bolt of size M2 or larger, and to a nut of size M3 or larger. |
| · |
It cures completely after 48 hours at 25°C. |

These results are for zinc chromate-plated bolts, M10 P1.5, tightened with 29.4 Nm and cured for 48 hours at 25°C. |
| *2 |
These results are for zinc chromate-plated bolts, M10 P1.5, and plain steel female screws tightened with 29.4 Nm and cured for 48 hours at 25°C. The maximum tolerable temperature for locking is the highest temperature at which the locking strength exceeded the torque with which the bolts were tightened. The maximum tolerable temperature for sealing is the highest temperature at which the sealant resisted an oil pressure of 7.9MPa. |
