ThreeBond 4221, 4221B Liquid sealant for waterworks (for lining steel pipes)

ThreeBond 4221/4221B is a corrosion-preventive sealant for the pipe-end faces and threads of lined steel pipes made of a special polymer for use on drinking-water pipes. It is provided in two colors; ThreeBond 4221 (gray) and ThreeBond 4221B (white).

This product complies with Japan Water Works Association (JWWA) K 146 and has the following properties as a liquid sealant for use in water piping:

·	Offers excellent protection against corrosion of joints by dirty or muddy water.
·	Has excellent adhesion to the surface it is applied to.
·	Offers excellent padding and adaptability to joints, for efficient workability.
·	Can be used on pipes with diameter of up to 80A.

Pursuant to the provisions set forth in Section 4, Paragraph 2 of the Water Works Law, the Law Number 177 in 1957, the product complies with the leaching standards for each substance specified in the leaching test items in the following ministry ordinances issued by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare:

·	Ministry ordinance No. 15, issued on February 23, 2000, by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and setting forth the technical standards for a water supply facility.
·	Ministry ordinance No.14, issued on March 19, 1997, by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and setting forth the standards for the structure and material of a feed water supply system.

Also available for pipes supplying hot water.

About JWWA K 146
This is the standard set by the Japan Water Works Association for liquid sealants used in piping for conveying drinking water. ThreeBond 4221/4221B was developed to meet this standard.
